Golden Valley Public Safety Open House is June 26
Golden Valley’s Public Safety Open House is scheduled for Wednesday, June 26 at 5:00 p.m. at Fire Station #1, which is adjacent to the police station and city hall.
Public safety and city leaders say it’s a great chance for the community to meet firefighters and police officers–among others–face-to-face.
“We can get the youth to come out to public safety in the park, open house, all those type of events for youth here. It’s good to get the youth involved,” said Golden Valley Police Chief Virgil Green. “It’s just a lot of ways to engage the public here in Golden Valley.”
Fire Chief Bethany Brunsell also said her department uses the open house as one of its many recruitment tools.
“In addition to all of these great events where we can get out and meet people in non-emergency events, it’s also an opportunity for us to talk to people about becoming paid on-call firefighters with us,” Chief Brunsell said. “So we use a lot of these events as potential recruitment events as well as an opportunity to interact with the public and build relationships with people in our community.”
