Osseo’s 150th Anniversary Events Planned for the Year
Osseo is celebrating the city’s 150th anniversary all year long in 2025.
“What we’re trying to do is have events leading up to our culminating event at Lions Roar in September,” said Ann Schneider, vice chair of the organizing committee for the anniversary. “We want everyone to be aware of the 150th celebration.”

Osseo was founded in 1875.
The events lined up so far include:
March:
Special dishes/drinks/offers at restaurants including Dick’s Bar & Grill, Duffy’s Bar & Grill, Lynde’s Restaurant & Catering, and Olympia Café.
April 5:
Baked potato bar at Osseo Community Center, organized with Lynde’s Restaurant & Catering.
“Potatoes were the key crop, and that’s kind of how Osseo came into being with agriculture,” said Schneider.
Cost of the event is $15.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids, with proceeds helping fund future 150th anniversary events, she said.
May:
Walking tours in conjunction with Hennepin County’s Step To It exercise imitative.
“You can get your steps and learn a little bit about the history of Osseo, too!” said Schneider.
June 21:
Motorcycle ride on Central Avenue and Jefferson Highway.
The group is also hard at work on a commemorative book about the history of Osseo.
“I think it’s really important to bring people together to celebrate, because we’re celebrating each other,” said Schneider. “We’re celebrating Osseo.”
