Wayzata Volleyball Sweeps Into State Final
The Wayzata volleyball team swept Anoka Thursday morning to advance to Saturday’s state championship match.
The Trojans, coming off a quarterfinal-round sweep of Edina Thursday, beat the fifth-seeded Tornadoes 25-14, 25-13, and 25-16.
Olivia Swenson led Wayzata with 14 kills while Avery Jesewitz added 11. Stella Swenson finished with 29 set assists and four kills.
The Trojans (33-0) will play for their fourth consecutive state title Saturday at 7:00 pm at Xcel Energy Center against second-seeded New Prague (27-5).
The teams have not played each other this season.
