Wayzata Rallies Past Champlin Park in Big Volleyball Matchup
The top-ranked Wayzata volleyball team lost the first set but rallied to beat third-ranked Champlin Park in four sets in a key matchup of powerhouse class AAAA teams Tuesday at Wayzata.
Champlin Park came out strong and beat the Trojans 25-21 in the opening set; it’s just the fourth set Wayzata has lost this season.
Wayzata bounced back to take the second set 25-21.
After Champlin Park led early in the third, the Trojans surged late to win 25-18.
The fourth set was another back and forth battle with Wayzata pulling out a 25-23 win to improve to 18-0.

Champlin Park dropped to 13-4, with two of the losses against Wayzata and one against number two Eagan.
