Wayzata Girls Soccer Wins Shootout
The Wayzata girls soccer team won a shootout over Stillwater 2-1 in the state class AA semifinals.
The teams were tied 1-1 through regulation and overtime.
With the pressure mounting in the shootout, Wayzata converted a couple of do or die chances.
Goalkeeper Madison Lo made a key stop, leading to the game-winner by Elizabeth Page.
The Trojans won the shootout 7-6 to win the game and advance to the championship game.
Wayzata faces Minnetonka for a third time this season in the AA title game Friday afternoon.
