Wayzata Boys Volleyball Sweeps Hopkins
The Wayzata boys volleyball team won its ninth match of the spring Tuesday with a three-set sweep of Hopkins.
The Trojans, coming off a second-place finish at the Panther Challenge tournament at Spring Lake Park, beat the Royals 25-15, 26-24, and 25-19.
It was a rematch of last season’s section final won by Hopkins in the first year of boys volleyball as a sanctioned sport by the Minnesota State High School League.
With the win the Trojans improve to 9-3 overall and 5-1 in the Lake Conference while the Royals fall to 0-6.
The teams play again May 21 at Wayzata.
