Wayzata Boys Soccer Wins State Tournament Opener

George Soeffker scored two first half goals and Jeremy Cordeiro scored on a penalty kick early in the second half as the Wayzata boys soccer team beat Blaine 3-1 Wednesday in the state Class AAA tournament quarterfinals.

Wayzata (12-2-5) advances to the state semifinals Tuesday at 8:00 am at U.S. Bank Stadium.
