Wayzata Boys Soccer Falls to Edina in Class AAA State Semifinals
The Wayzata boys soccer team came up short against Edina, losing 3-0 in the state class AAA semifinals.
All three of the Hornets goals came in the second half.
Carsten Koehler got his own rebound on a penalty kick and got Edina on the board.
Then Ronan McArdle followed a Koehler free kick and put it in the back of the net to make it 2-0.
Andreas Engle converted on another PK to give the Hornets a three-goal advantage.
Edina will face Maple Grove in the class AAA state championship on Friday.
Wayzata will face Buffalo in the third-place match on Wednesday.
