Wayzata Boys Soccer Shoots for Repeat
The Wayzata boys soccer team will have plenty of new faces in the lineup this fall as they look to repeat as state class AAA champions.
The Trojans won the fourth state title in program history last fall, rallying late in regulation to tie Woodbury before winning 3-2 in overtime.
Five starters are back for coach Dominic Duenas, but they have to replace standout scorers Mike Orlov and Joe Highfield, among others lost to graduation.
The midfield should be a strong point for the Trojans this season as they return much of that group from the 2022 team.
Captains Charlie Piller, Miles Redmond, and Evan Mahan lead the way into the 2023 season.
Wayzata opens the season at St. Louis Park August 26th.
