Wayzata Boys Soccer Rolls Past Cooper in Playoff Opener
After an outstanding regular season, the Wayzata boys soccer team opened the playoffs with a convincing win over Cooper.
The Trojans beat the Hawks 4-0 in the Section 6AA quarterfinals on a very windy night at Wayzata High School.

Cooper was outplayed but held in the game for much of the first half.
Wayzata’s dominance eventually paid off.

Two minutes Peter Melquist converted on a penalty kick to make it 3-0 Trojans at halftime.
Joe Highfield scored the only goal of the second half.
Wayzata hosts Minneapolis Southwest in the semifinals Tuesday.
