Wayzata Boys Soccer Overpowers STMA in State Quarterfinals
The Wayzata boys soccer team rolled past St. Michael-Albertville 5-0 in the state class AAA quarterfinals Tuesday in the rain in Edina.
The game was called with 13:39 remaining due to lightning.
The Trojans got on the board early as Aiden Judickas scored just 5:40 into the contest.
Miles Redmond set up Lassi Koivukangas for a beautiful turnaround shot midway through the first half to make it 2-0.
Koivukangas and Judickas each scored in the second half to make it 4-0, with Coby Shtulman tacking on the final goal.
Wayzata is the top seed for this year’s tournament and defending champion.
The Trojans face Woodbury in the semifinals Wednesday morning at 8:00 at U.S. Bank Stadium.
