Wayzata Beats Hopkins for Section 6AAA Girls Soccer Title
The Wayzata girls soccer team won the Section 6AAA championship Tuesday with a 2-0 shutout of Hopkins.
The Royals had defeated and tied the Trojans during the regular season.
Grace Lopata and Dana Bruer scored the Wayzata goals, both in the second half.
It is the 27th section title for Wayzata girls soccer. The Trojans (12-4-2) will find out Saturday who their opponent is for the state quarterfinals next week.
The Royals finish the season with a record of 12-5-1.
