Spring Lake Park Wins 5AAA Boys Golf Title; Maple Grove 2nd
The Spring Lake Park boys golf team came from one shot down to Maple Grove to beat the Crimson by 11 strokes on day two of the tournament Thursday to win the Section 5AAA team championship.
The Panthers 36-hole team score was 588. Maple Grove finished at 598, ahead of Centennial and Rogers.
Brandon Yabandith of Rogers was the tournament medalist shooting rounds of 67 and 71 (138).
Noah Grassman of Spring Lake Park shot the low round Thursday- 65- and finished second at 141.
Zach Johnson of Maple Grove finished third (73-70/143) and Will Godin of the Crimson placed sixth (74-75/149).
Both Johnson and Godin qualify to state as individuals.
The state Class AAA tournament is June 9-10 at Bunker Hills.
