Providence Softball Beats Breck for 10th Straight Win
The Providence Academy softball team won its 10th straight game Wednesday edging Breck 5-4.
The Mustangs took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on two run-scoring groundouts before the Lions chipped away.
Stella Serie, Cami Weber and Taylor Asche all drove in runs with hits to give Providence a 5-2 lead through six innings.
Breck scored twice in the seventh including one run on a single from Lex Ulrich but Providence pitcher Asche notched her eighth strikeout of the game to end it.
The Lions are now 13-3 overall and 5-1 in the IMAC.
The Mustangs are 6-6 overall and 4-1 in the conference with one IMAC game remaining against Blake on Thursday. A win for Breck would give them a conference title tie with Providence.
The Mustangs beat the Lions head-to-head the first time the teams played in April.
