Providence Academy Girls Soccer Loaded with Talent Again
The Providence Academy girls’ soccer team is coming off back-to-back third place finishes in the state Class A tournament.
With nine starters returning, the Lions are shooting for a state title in 2024.
Among the returning players are forward Maddyn Greenway, who scored 55 goals last season- leading the state. Midfielder Tatum Janezich has committed to playing college soccer at Emory University. CeCi Carron is the team’s top defender and sophomore Audrey Steeves is the Lions’ returning goalkeeper.
Providence has beefed up its non-conference schedule this year and will play matches against powerhouse teams like Holy Angels and Wayzata.
The Lions open the season Thursday at St. Croix Prep- another state tournament team from 2023.
