Park Center Boys Basketball Edges Wayzata

The second-ranked Park Center boys basketball team edged number one Wayzata 66-62 in a good game at the Breakdown TipOff Classic Saturday.

Wayzata opened the game on a 7-0 run, and the Trojans were up 30-21 t halftime.

Park Center opened the second half on a 16-2 run though to grab the lead.

Wayzata battled back late to keep it close but the Pirates held on for the win over the defending state Class AAAA champions.

Park Center is now 3-0 with impressive wins over Edina, DeLaSalle, and Wayzata last week.

Park Center hosts Coon Rapids Tuesday.

Wayzata dropped to 2-1 with the loss.

The Trojans host #4 Shakopee Tuesday.
