Park Center Boys Basketball Edges Lakeville North at Breakdown Tipoff Classic
The Park Center boys basketball team edged Lakeville North 81-79 in a matchup of two of the state’s best teams at the Breakdown Tipoff Classic at Hopkins Saturday.
Park Center is ranked number one in class AAAA, with Lakeville North rated third.

Park Center jumped out to an early 15-2 lead, but Lakeville North chipped away at the deficit and were within 47-45 at halftime.
The Pirates stretched the lead back into double figures in the second half before the Panthers rallied again, leading 76-72 with 2:45 left after hitting back-to-back three-pointers.
After Park Center went up 79-77, two free throws for the Panthers tied the score late.
Park Center called a timeout and held for the last shot, giving Chavis a chance to create the game-winner.
