Osseo Boys, Maple Grove Girls Cross Country Teams Qualify for State Meet
The Osseo boys and Maple Grove girls high school cross country teams grabbed spots in the state meet Thursday with runner-up finishes at the Section 5AAA championship races in Anoka.
Mounds View won both team titles.
For the Orioles it’s their first time at state as a team since 2008. The Crimson girls qualify for the first time since 2017.
The top local finishers were Cade Sanvik (Boys, 2nd place) and Champlin Park’s Abby Hibbs (Girls, 2nd place).
Other local individual boys state qualifiers are Charlie Hibbs and Salman Mohammed of Champlin Park and Maple Grove’s Gannon Farrens.
The only other girls’ state individual qualifier, in addition to Abby Hibbs, is Jules Davis of Osseo.
The state meet is November 4th at the University of Minnesota’s Les Bolstad Golf Course.
