New Champlin Park Baseball Coach Has to Wait for Debut
The new head baseball coach at Champlin Park certainly didn’t envision a season like this.
Ryan Tohm was an assistant for seven years for the Rebels before being hired last fall to take over for Cory Davis.
The COVID-19 pandemic means Tohm will have to wait a year to begin his head coaching career in official games.
He says the Rebels had a good offseason and were excited about this season, but things changed in a hurry.
Tohm is confident that the program is in good shape and won’t suffer any longterm damage for missing a season.
But the seniors in the class of 2020, many of whom had waited their turn for playing time in a large school, won’t get a last chance to be Rebels.
