McGarry, Greenway Bring Home Medal Haul at Class AA Track

Breck’s Lulu McGarry and Providence Academy’s Maddyn Greenway each won three medals to lead their teams to top six finishes at the state Class AA track and field meet.

McGarry, a Yale University commit, swept the sprint races, winning the 100-, 200-and 400-meter dashes. Breck finished sixth as a team.

Greenway, headed to Kentucky next year on a basketball scholarship, won her third straight 300-meter hurdles race, setting a new state AA record in 41.88 seconds. She also finished second in the 100 hurdles and anchored the Lions 4 x 400-meter relay team to gold.

Providence finished third overall behind Orono and St. Peter.

George Nelson of Providence Academy was also a gold medalist, winning the boys 400 meters.
