Maple Grove Softball Uses Big First Inning to Rout Centennial, 11-1
Five runs scored in the first inning and another five more in the fourth led Maple Grove softball to an 11-1 win over Centennial.
The Crimson’s Lauren Beissel got the offense going with a two-run RBI double and later in the first inning, Sam Gustafson brought in two more runners on a two-run single.
Beissel hit another double that scored in a run in the second inning.
In the fourth, Dani Strom hit a line drive into the outfield for an RBI single and Jenna Steele brought Strom home on an up-the-middle grounder that got through the infield.
Kelsey Pautzke got the win in the circle. The Crimson are now 1-1 on the season.
