Maple Grove Softball Team Regroups for Summer Work
The Maple Grove High School softball team didn’t get to play this spring, but they are regrouping for summer workouts.
The COVID-19 pandemic meant no spring school season for the Crimson.
They are getting together once a week in July to sharpen their skills, but also to reconnect with teammates and coaches.
The Crimson won their first-ever state title in 2019, capturing the class AAAA championship.
Some of the players are competing in shortened club seasons, but the workouts as a Crimson team are also important.
Much of the focus is on basic skills. Some time is also given to terminology used in the Crimson program.
It’s all part of trying to keep some continuity for a strong Maple Grove program.
