Maple Grove Softball Loaded With Talent for 2023
The Maple Grove softball team is always among the best in the state and the Crimson expect nothing different this spring.
Coming off a runner-up finish in Section 5AAAA, Maple Grove returns six starters from 2022 including two-year starting pitcher Maddie Whilm, catcher Ava Ihle, outfielders Faith Kreye, Alyssa Wernz, and Dani Strom, plus first baseman Sami Gustafson.
The Crimson finished 16-9 a year ago, losing to Centennial in the section final.
There is still a lot of snow on fields across the metro area so some of the team’s early season games could instead be played inside the Maple Grove Sports Dome.
The Crimson may play Coon Rapids on April 6th in the Maple Grove Dome.
