Maple Grove Softball Edges Armstrong 3-2
The Maple Grove softball team scored single runs in the second, third and fourth innings to edge Armstrong 3-2 in Northwest Suburban Conference play.
The Falcons scored both of their runs in the bottom of the seventh with RBIs from Julia Girod and Bri Dumas.
Jenna Steele drove in two runs for the Crimson while pitcher Jordan Brustuen struck out 11 batters to earn the win.
With the win Maple Grove is now 7-4 overall and 5-4 in the conference.
Armstrong drops to 5-7 overall and 3-6 in the NWSC.
