Maple Grove Softball Beats Spring Lake Park
The Maple Grove softball team scored four runs in the first inning on the way to beating Spring Lake Park 8-1 Thursday in the Section 5AAAA tournament.
The Panthers committed four errors in the first, leading to the Crimson runs.
Elizabeth Berry doubled in two runs in the third inning while Dorothy Dueck and Dani Strom also drove in runs for Maple Grove.
Starting pitcher Bella Daniels allowed just one run in 6 1/3 innings of work.
Maple Grove (15-5) is meeting top-seeded Centennial in the winner’s bracket final on Friday afternoon. The tournament then continues next week.
