Maple Grove Girls Golf Rolls to Section Title
The Maple Grove girls golf team is headed back to the state tournament for a third straight season after dominating to win the Section 5AAA team title.
The Crimson shot a two-round total of 622, finishing a whopping 81 shots ahead of second place Forest Lake.
Blaine’s Kathryn Van Arragon dominated the individual competition, shooting rounds of 66 and 68 to win by 15 strokes.
It was mostly Maple Grove after her.
Amelia Morton (149) placed second, followed by teammates Maria Contreras (154) in third and Julia Contreras and Payton Anderson (161) tied for fourth.
All six Crimson players finished in the top eight.
Park Center’s Alysen Blomberg (163) placed seventh to qualify for state as an individual.
The state class AAA tournament is June 13th and 14th at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids.
