Greenway Nets Hat Trick to Lead Providence Girls Soccer Back to State
Maddyn Greenway scored three goals as the Providence Academy girls soccer team scored a 4-1 win over Heritage Christian Academy in the Section 5A championship match.
Maddyn’s younger sister Beckett opened the scoring less than six minutes into the match with Maddyn later scoring her 50th goal of the season to give the Lions a 2-0 halftime lead.
Jazmine Carlson scored the lone goal for the Eagles (12-5-2) in the second half.
Maddyn Greenway now has scored 50 or more goals in three of the past four seasons and is the state’s all-time leading scorer in soccer.
Providence Academy (15-3-1) is the defending state champion in Class A and will find out Saturday their quarterfinal round opponent.
