Champlin Park Volleyball Eager to Continue Season
It’s been a rollercoaster ride for volleyball players at Champlin Park due to COVID-19.
First there wasn’t going to be a fall season, then it was announced that the Minnesota State High School League would allow a shortened season.
The season started with matches beginning October 8.
Last Friday, Anoka-Hennepin schools announced that they would be switching to all distance learning for middle and high school students starting November 2.
Concerning COVID numbers in the are lead to that decision.
That would also mean halting sports and activities.
Monday night while the Rebels were playing Elk River, the school board voted to allow sports and activities to continue after all.
That decision was announced at the match, and players and coaches were overjoyed.
Champlin Park has a lot of new faces in the lineup but they are playing well, with a 5-1 record heading into Wednesday night’s match.
They are scheduled to face Maple Grove, the team that handed them their only loss, next Thursday November 5th.
You can see that match live on CCX Sports, channels 799/12 and www.ccxmedia.org.
The Rebels are savoring every day on the court, with the knowledge that things could change again at any time.
