Champlin Park Football Wins Thriller “Battle for the Paddle” over Anoka
In a rivalry match-up that featured a total of 83 points scored, the Champlin Park football team came away with a last second win over Anoka 42-41 victory in the “Battle for the Paddle”.
Junior running back Preston Nelson led the way for the Rebels on the ground, rushing 21 times for 171 yards and four touchdowns.
Junior quarterback Myles Felton added 106 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Anoka was down by a touchdown with three seconds left in the game and converted on a quarterback keeper on 4th-and-three to pull within one point, but the Rebels stopped the Tornadoes on the ensuing two-point attempt and held on to the 42-41 win.
Champlin Park advances to 5-1 on the season with the win.
