Champlin Park Football Falls to St. Michael-Albertville
The Champlin Park football team lost 14-7 to St. Michael-Albertville Friday.
Both of the Knights’ touchdowns came on punt mishaps for the Rebels. STMA blocked a punt and Brock Cornell returned it for a touchdown for a 7-0 first quarter lead.
Brady Schornstein scored on a short touchdown run to open the second quarter as Champlin Park tied the game 7-7.
A dropped punt snap by CP led to a short return for Tanner Becker for another score for the Knights as they took a 14-7 halftime lead.
Champlin Park drove inside the STMA 10-yard line in the fourth quarter but they were stopped on downs.
Champlin Park drops to 2-3 with the loss.
