Champlin Park Football Edges Osseo 28-21
The Champlin Park football team edged Osseo 28-21 in the regular season finale Wednesday to finish with a 7-1 mark in the regular season.
The teams traded touchdowns on the game’s opening possessions, with Osseo’s Noah Graves capping an impressive drive with a 13-yard run to start the scoring.
Champlin Park quickly answered with Preston Nelson’s 9-yard run to tie it 7-7.
Osseo scored late in the first on a Wes Kranz to Zymirr Johnson fade pass to lead 14-7 after one quarter.
Champlin Park drove 97 yards after recovering an Osseo fumble, with quarterback Miles Felton scoring with nine seconds left in the first half for the Rebels to make it 14-14 at halftime.
Champlin Park took the lead on a Felton keeper midway through the third.
Osseo’s Philip Sieh scored on a 4th down play to once again tie the score at 21-21 after three.
Felton scored his third touchdown of the game midway through the fourth quarter to give the Rebels a 28-21 lead, and they held off a last Osseo drive to preserve the win.
