Champlin Park Football Edges Centennial
The Champlin Park football team edged Centennial 24-21 Friday night.
The Rebels took advantage of five Cougars turnovers in the first half to build a 17-7 lead.
After Centennial went in front 21-17, a great effort by receiver Brock Johnson pushed Champlin Park ahead.
Johnson hauled in a Bennett Otto pass and broke two tackles to score a 63-yard touchdown.
That gave Champlin Park the lead for good at 24-21.
The Rebels are 5-2 entering Wednesday’s regular season finale against Totino-Grace.
