Champlin Park Football Beats White Bear Lake
The Champlin Park football team won its section playoff opener Tuesday, beating White Bear Lake 34-8.
Senior running back Shawn Shipman rushed for 195 yards and two touchdowns to help the Rebels break a three-game losing streak.
Champlin Park quarterback Cade Fitzgerald threw for a touchdown and ran for another in the second quarter to give the Rebels a 20-0 halftime lead.
Champlin Park (3-3) is scheduled to play at Shakopee Saturday.
