Champlin Park Baseball Edges Maple Grove in Pitcher’s Duel
In a game where pitching and defense took center stage, the Champlin Park baseball team beat visiting Maple Grove 2-1 Tuesday.
Champlin Park’s Evan Nordby pitched a complete game, allowing four hits and striking out six.
Matthew Kuno of Maple Grove was just about as sharp, allowing five hits and striking out four in six innings.
Christian Dull drove in the go-ahead run in the fifth inning for the Rebels.
Champlin Park improved to 9-5 while Maple Grove dropped to 5-8.
