Champlin Blanks Brooklyn Park in Legion Baseball
Champlin Legion Post 600 scored an 11-0 win over Brooklyn Park Monday in North Hennepin League American Legion Baseball.
After a scoreless first inning Champlin scored five runs in the second, single runs in the third and fourth, and then four more runs in the fifth inning to earn the win.
Zach Zahalka drove in three runs with a bases-clearing triple in the fifth. Ty McGee drove in two runs in the second inning with a single.
It was the first of four league games this week for Champlin and the first of three for Brooklyn Park.
