CCX Sports Spotlight: Mykhailo Protsenko, Armstrong Track and Field
Our CCX Sports Spotlight this week shines on Armstrong track and field standout Mykhailo (Misha) Protsenko.
Jay Wilcox profiles the Falcons’ senior, who won the shot put and discus competition at this week’s Northwest Suburban Conference meet.
Protsenko came to the U.S. from his native Ukraine, fleeing due to the war in the fall of 2022.
He spoke little English at the time and had never competed in track and field, but has come a long way in a hurry in his language skills and as a thrower.
Misha will attend Concordia-St. Paul on a track and field scholarship and hopes to study nursing.
