CCX Sports Spotlight: Champlin Park Football
Our first CCX Sports Spotlight for this fall season features the Champlin Park football team.
The Rebels got off to a 2-0 start, beating St. Michael-Albertville and then edging a good Andover squad 28-24.
Junior running back Preston Nelson and senior tight end Isaac Axness are two key factors in the early success.
Nelson averaged 6.8 yards per carry and just under 140 yards rushing in the first two games for the Rebels.
Axness had three touchdown catches in five catches total in the first two games.
After hosting Centennial Friday, Champlin Park plays at Rogers next Friday September 19th.
