Benilde-St. Margaret’s Girls Lacrosse Edges Wayzata for Section Title
The Benilde-St. Margaret’s girls lacrosse team is headed to the state tournament after holding off Wayzata for a 10-8 win in the Section 5 final.
The first half was a back and forth battle, with Benilde netting the last two goals of the half to lead 5-3 at halftime.
Wayzata scored the first two of the second half to even things up at 5-5.
The Red Knights scored five of the next six goals to take command.
Wayzata scored a pair to pull within 10-8 but could get no closer.
Mary Zavoral scored four goals to lead BSM.
Ava Goodnature scored four goals and Ava Score added three for the Trojans.
The state tournament starts June 16 at Stillwater High School.
