Armstrong Softball Loses Heartbreaker to Edina in Section 6AAAA Final
The Armstrong softball team trailed early before rallying to take a 4-3 lead against Edina in the sixth inning of the Section 6AAAA final.
The Hornets had the last rally though, scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth to pull out a 6-4 win over the Falcons.
Edina scored two runs in the second, including a solo homer by Ella Meyer, to take an early 2-0 lead.
They led 3-0 until the fourth, when Elizabeth Brey lined a two-run homerun to left to pull Armstrong within 3-2.
Brey did it again in the top of the sixth, blasting a two-run homer to center to give the Falcons a 4-3 lead.
Armstrong was one strike away from escaping a jam in the bottom of the sixth but Lauren Ganley delivered a clutch bases-loaded triple to put the Hornets ahead for good 6-4.
