Armstrong Football Eliminated in Loss to Andover
The Armstrong football team lost 37-20 to Andover in the state class AAAAA quarterfinals Saturday, ending the Falcons’ season.
Andover took control early, scoring on the game’s opening possession.
They led 14-0 after a quarter and built the lead to 21-0 early in the second.
Armstrong quarterback Dawson Franke finished a drive with a touchdown run to pull the Falcons within 21-6 before Andover scored defensively with a safety to make it 23-6 at halftime.
The Huskies put it away with two touchdowns in the third quarter to go up 37-6.
Armstrong scored twice in the fourth but it was too little, too late as Andover advanced to the semifinals.
Armstrong finishes with an 8-3 record.
It was the Falcons’ second straight trip to state and sixth overall.
