# 1 Wayzata Edges # 4 Hopkins in Boys Basketball

Jackson McAndrew’s basket with 33 seconds left in the game gave the Wayzata boys basketball team a 71-70 win over Hopkins.

McAndrew scored 27 points to lead all scorers. Wyatt McBeth added 14 points and Isaac Olmstead 11 for the top-ranked Trojans (22-1).

Hopkins (16-5) had a last-second shot from Anthony Smith miss to give Wayzata the win.

JJ Semanko scored 24 points, Smith 16 and Jayden Moore 15 for the Royals.

Hopkins beat Wayzata 80-69 last month and the teams could meet again in Section 6AAAA play in March.
