Tanker Truck Overturns, Snarls Traffic at I-494/I-94 Split
It was a difficult travel day Monday in Maple Grove
A fuel tanker truck overturned shortly before 10:30 a.m. Monday as the driver was going from northbound Interstate Highway 494 to eastbound Intestate Highway 94.
Scanner traffic reports mentioned fuel leaking and the driver of the truck needing emergency help to get out of the cab. There’s no word on the condition of the semi driver or how much fuel leaked.
The crash forced crews to close the exit ramp to eastbound 94 for nearly five hours as crews worked to tow away the tanker.
A short time after the tanker crash, a second crash occurred on southbound I-494 near Bass Lake Road. An ambulance was needed and injuries were involved.
