Maple Grove Senior High’s Bart Becker Named Principal of the Year

As the school year winds down, one local educator is getting some well-deserved recognition.

During a recent school pep rally, the staff at Maple Grove Senior High surprised their longtime leader, Principal Bart Becker, by announcing he has been named Principal of the Year.

The prestigious honor is awarded by the Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP) Hennepin Division. The organization highlighted Becker’s strong leadership, unwavering dedication to student success, and his years of service to the broader school community.

The announcement caught Becker completely off guard. He was quick to share the credit with his staff and students.

“There are so many great leaders across the state of Minnesota that are clearly more deserving than I feel I am,” Becker said. “I’m just proud to have a team around me and proud to be in a school community where so many great things happen. I believe this recognition is for all of us.”

While this marks Becker’s 11th year at the helm of Maple Grove Senior High, he is a familiar face in local education. This year also marks his 25th year of service within the Osseo Area School District.
