Scooter’s Coffee Opens in Brooklyn Park
As a society, Americans crave caffeine.
We also want our orders prepared quickly.
And along 85th Avenue in Brooklyn Park, Scooter’s Coffee aims to check all of those boxes.
“We actually have a goal of two and a half minutes,” said Megan Scott, 25, the owner of the Brooklyn Park franchise. “We want our window time to be 30 seconds. We don’t want you sitting there and standing there longer than 30 seconds.”
The Scooter’s Coffee in Brooklyn Park officially opened May 22. The Nebraska-based chain is starting to zoom its way into cities across Minnesota.
“Our goal is to market pretty heavily,” Scott said. “Get coupons out to schools and hospitals and different areas, and just push our app and try to create customer bases.”
Breaking into a market that already has long-established favorites comes with some risks, but the staff members at the Brooklyn Park Scooter’s are ready to take on that challenge, one drink at a time.
“So the nice thing about Scooter’s is that we have a lot more options than our competitors, like our smoothies,” said Emma Wajda, the general manager.
Whether it’s smoothies, the all-day breakfast menu, or their signature “Caramelicious” drink, the hope is that the product — and the customer service — will keep people coming back.
“We can also add energy powder and protein powder to any drink which, I don’t think any of our competitors have,” Wajda said.
Customers we spoke with seemed satisfied.
“I was excited because there’s no options other than other coffee places that are around,” said Kyla Bohr, a customer from Brooklyn Park. “I was excited to see it and it’s close to my house, so it’ll be convenient.”
Convenience is the name of the game for people on the go, but a little kindness from bubbly baristas also goes a long way, which is why there’s optimism that Scooter’s will be a fixture for years to come.
“It’s a new product and it’s exciting and I think people will keep liking it and keep coming back,” Scott said.
Meanwhile, Scott say she has plans to open four more Scooter’s Coffee locations around the Twin Cities in the coming years.
