School Construction Picks Up in Anoka-Hennepin District
When the new school year begins things will look different at Champlin Park High School. A $16.4 million school construction project is nearing completion.
The portable classrooms at the high school have been removed and will soon be towed away from the grounds. There will also be improvements to Champlin Park’s science and media center and an expansion to the strength and fitness area.
Construction started last October and will be finished this fall.
Champlin-Brooklyn Park Academy Expansion
Meanwhile, across the street, changes are coming to Champlin-Brooklyn Park Academy for Math and Environmental Sciences.
A $25 million expansion project at that school begins in 2020. It will have a two-story design, similar to Oxbow Creek Elementary in the Anoka-Hennepin School District.
The gym is being moved to the back of the school and there will be a new a courtyard. District officials say the school will look “brand new.”
