Plymouth Council Member Clark Gregor Announces Run for Mayor
A Plymouth City Council Member hopes to become the city’s next mayor.
Clark Gregor, who has served on the council since 2022, has announced he plans to run for the mayor’s seat.
He declared his candidacy ahead of the July 14 opening of the candidate filing period.
“I love this city,” Gregor said in a YouTube video. “But there are challenges we haven’t fully tackled yet: seniors who want to stay in the community they’ve built but can’t find the right housing options, young people who want to put down roots here but can’t make it work. This isn’t just a social issue, it’s an economic one.”
According to his website, Gregor began serving on city commissions in 2017.
His priorities would be to expand affordable housing, supporting sustainable economic growth, public safety, and environmental protection, his website read.
“Plymouth is an extraordinary community, and I’ve had the privilege of serving it at every level of local government for nearly a decade,” said Gregor. “I’m running because the challenges ahead — especially housing affordability — demand experienced, decisive leadership, and I’m ready to provide it.”
It’s unclear if Gregor will be challenged by current Mayor Jeff Wosje.
When asked if he plans to run for re-election, Wosje told CCX News, “I am planning to make an announcement later this month.”
Gregor has been acting as mayor recently while Wosje recovered from surgery.
The filing period for the mayor’s office, as well as three Plymouth City Council seats, closes on July 28. The general election will take place Nov. 3.
