Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion to Host Video Game Tournament
The Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion is hosting an event this weekend aimed at building camaraderie and attracting younger members.
The legion will host its first-ever video gaming tournament on Saturday, June 10 in partnership with Regiment Gaming and the military charity Stack Up.
Teams of two will compete against each other in the “Call of Duty” video game for the opportunity to win a $5,000 donation to Stack Up. The only qualification: you have to either be a veteran, spouse, or family member of someone in the military.
“It should be a good tournament and a good turnout,” said James Hultgren, first vice commander of the Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion Post 172. “But we’re hoping that, maybe some of those veterans that come and play might say, ‘alright, this is a place for me.'”
The gaming tournament will begin at 10 a.m. Spectators are welcomed to attend.
