New Hope Police Investigate Apartment Shooting

New Hope police are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday morning at an apartment complex.

According to New Hope police, the incident occurred just before 6 a.m. Sunday at an apartment building on the 8100 block of 36th Ave. N. As officers arrived, they located one person injured. Police and paramedics provided aid to the victim, who was taken to the hospital. No further information about the victim or the person’s condition was available Monday morning.

There’s also no word yet on the arrest status of the shooter or further information about the suspect. 

Police have not revealed the relationship between the shooter and victim but say Sunday that there was “no danger to the public.” 

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit are assisting New Hope police with the investigation, police said.
