New Hope City Council Honors Andy Hoffe, Declares Seat Vacancy
The city of New Hope honored longtime City Council Member Andy Hoffe on Monday with a moment of silence.
Hoffe passed away on May 30. He was 89 years old.
Hoffe was first elected to the council in 2004 and re-elected thereafter, including in 2024. Hoffe served a total of 20 years.
“Council Member Hoffe was the most senior member of the City Council, and over his more two decades of dedicated public service, Council Member Hoffe
demonstrated extraordinary commitment, thoughtfulness, and integrity, becoming a guiding example for fellow council members and city staff alike,” read a resolution honoring his life.
A celebration of life for Hoffe is scheduled for Sunday, June 22, at 4 p.m. at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Plymouth, according to his obituary.

New Hope Council Seat Vacancy Declared
The New Hope City Council also declared a vacancy for Hoffe’s seat and will begin taking candidate applications soon.
The council must appoint a new member since Hoffe has more than two years left on his term.
City Manager Reece Bertholf said he expects interviews for the seat to begin in early August.
New Hope City Council members serve four-year terms.
