New Dining Venue Coming to Plymouth, Will Cater Events
A new dining venue will fill the space of a former bridal shop next to Latuff’s Pizzeria off Highway 55 in Plymouth. The owner of Absheron Palace says the business will cater to residents of all former Soviet Republics, as well as all Americans.
“We really don’t have restaurants in our area like what I’m going to have. People do miss that,” said owner Yuliya Yakovleva.
It won’t be a traditional restaurant, but rather a dining venue that hosts banquets and corporate outings.
The owner says there’s an unmet need for her type of ethnic cuisine ever since St. Petersburg Restaurant and Vodka Bar in Robbinsdale closed and became apartments, as well as the closure of Restaurant Baku in Plymouth. Both shuttered before the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We have none of those places in our communities, kind of like screaming for it,” said Yakovleva. “I decided why not, I’ll give it a shot.”
Renovations at Absheron Palace are expected to continue through the end of November, said Yakovleva, who has experience in the restaurant industry and is currently the food service director at St. Hubert Catholic School in Chanhassen.
An opening date is not yet known.
